Accountability for Afghanistan

Accountability for Afghanistan

At this point, what's done is done in Afghanistan. At the very least, someone needs to be held accountable for what is undeniably the greatest military blunder of our lifetimes.
America's withdrawal from Afghanistan has been the most poorly-executed military retrograde in history. Hundreds, if not thousands, of Americans, civilians, and children were left behind, in a country that is now controlled by a cruel, oppressive regime with a long history of outright ignorning international human rights agreements. Furthermore, billions of dollars worth of modern military equipment was left behind, making them a better-equipped combat force than half of the countries of the world. Despite scores of people begging and pleading to be allowed safe passage out, the final American transport ships to take off were EMPTY.
And who is being held accountable for such a monumental failure? At this point, not a soul. As women are begging for their babies and young children to be squeezed onto departing planes, the powers that made this blunder possible are walking free and even praising their own "success." With this petition, I ask that the true nature of this debacle be investigated, and whoever allowed such an embarrassing and unspeakble blunder be carried out, held accountable. Americans died trying to make a difference in the lives of Afghanis, and they deserve justice of some kind.
