Christy Pedraza started this petition to united states senators

In many states in the United States of America  women who are raped and end up conceiving a child(ren) from the rape must share custody of the child(ren) with their rapist or be forced to allow visitation of the child(ren) to the rapist. This law that these traumatized women have to abide by further traumatizes them and leads to depression, anxiety, ptsd, and despair. The women who want to keep their child(ren) feel like they have to choose abortion because they know they cannot handle the emotional trauma of seeing their rapists over and over again and knowing they have to hand their child(ren) over to the person who assaulted them is just too overwhelming. Some women who choose to have the child(ren) become criminals by fleeing the state or country, or they feel such despair they end up committing suicide. A woman that was raped should not be further assaulted and traumatized by having to share custody of a child(ren) they choose to keep that was the product of a rape. Let’s tell our senators, congress, and our president that this is not right and as a country we do not agree that rapists should have any rights to further assault their victims by being granted any type of custody or visitation with the child(ren) conceived from the crime that was committed.
