I'm sure everyone is aware of the volumes of marketing mail received through the US Postal Service. Among these are credit card/loan offers, insurance promotions and investment company pitches -- to name just a few. Long ago, it was easy to just toss this junk mail in the trash can. This is no longer the case.

In recent years, these companies (many of them large corporations) have started to place a person's full name and other personal information not only in the address section for mailing, but throughout the aggressive correspondence. Now, you must shred all your junk mail. Then, to make matters worse, many of these companies place the individual's name and other sensitive information on laminated or plastic cards that won't even go through many shredders, forcing one to manually cut these cards. This is way too much time required to dispose of junk mail.

I feel that this is an aggressive infringement on an individual's privacy and these practices should be halted by federal law. Please join me in this movement. I'm sure we'd all be happy to receive less junk mail through the US Postal Service.
