Bring Gant started this petition to United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps

The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC or NSCC) is a congressional-chartered, U.S. Navy-based organization that serves to teach individuals about the sea-going military services, U.S. naval operations and training, community service, citizenship, and an understanding of discipline and teamwork. The USNSCC is composed of two programs – the senior program for cadets age 13 through the age of 18, and the Navy League Cadet Corps (NLCC), which is for cadets ages 10 through 13.

Our division (Sacramento Division) is one of the largest USNSCC divisions in the country. Due to this, many of the senior members of the unit are a tight-knit community. Although we are very close, everything has changed in the past year. Our Commanding Officer (CO) of 16 year was removed a year ago because of a foolish complaint. Commander Gant served in the United States Navy for several years, and became Sacramento Divisions CO approximately 16 years ago. Some of his accomplishments include, but is not limited to: becoming a Chief and submariner in the USN; creating at least one sea cadet division that is still up and running; etc. He was also a very humorous yet caring and supportive person. He believed in all of his cadets, and gave many scholarships to those who needed support.

After he was removed our Executive Officer step up, and she did her best to fill in the job, but the feel just wasn't the same. A piece of the family was stolen from us.

In recent months the new CO left for personal  reasons and have yet another CO, but this time there is a clock on how long he will around. We hope signing this petition will be the first step to bringing back our beloved CO, and making our division whole again.
