Help Us Change the United States National Anthem to Miley Cyrus's "Party in the U.S.A."

The Star-Spangled Banner, the current United States national anthem, is not representative of our country as a whole, and it's not a very good choice for a song that represents our beautiful country. The song is notoriously difficult to sing and, more than that, it's uninspiring. It's set during one insignificant battle in a war most of us don't even know the name of. And the "star-spangled banner" in the song isn't even the same one we fly today—it's about 35 stars short. That's 35 states that aren't even represented in the song that's supposed to unify our entire country.
It's time for a change.
Miley Cyrus's hit single "Party in the U.S.A.," released on August 11, 2009, is a song that almost every American can immediately recognize from the very first verse. Not because it's a song we're "supposed" to recognize, but because it's a song that's resonated through the generations into the heart and soul of every American. "Party in the U.S.A." is a classic tale of the American dream—it depicts a regular American citizen on her way to becoming a star, with nothing but a dream and a song. She's determined, she's anxious, we laugh and cry with her—she's every American at one point or another. We've all heard the song, and millions of us know it by heart. It's an upbeat song, one that inspires hope and laughter and fun. Aren't these the values we want to see from the song that represents our nation?
