Maggie Griffieth started this petition to United States Embassy and

Hania Aguilar’s father has been denied a visa to attend his daughters funeral despite showing his ties to Guatemala and his intentions of returning there after the funeral. Hania’s grandfather was approved at that same appointment and Hania’s aunt the following day. The Embassy has failed this grieving father that just wants to say goodbye to his daughter one last time before she is laid to rest. Several high ranking government officials have been working hard to have this reversed. Mr. Aguilar has been unable to reschedule another appointment to bring MORE proof of his ties to Guatemala due to website errors and the Embassy not resolving them despite numerous open requests notifying them of the problem. Mr. Aguilar has travelled 8 hours to the Embassy on numerous occasions and 8 hours back home pleading for help with this case. Out of desperation to see his baby girl one last time he is traveling to the US Border to request a emergency visa for the funeral with his fate in the hands of the US once again. Holding on to one last drop of hope and pleading for a softened heart to let him in. This grieving father needs our help and if this was your child you would try to move mountains as well. As you are awaiting to get off of work on Friday so you can go home and see your family this father is fighting for you to let him see his. Please make an exception and escort him there if needed but let him lay her to rest.
