Rights to Women with Endometriosis
This petition had 195 supporters
Too many women with this disease don't have adequate rights. We are constantly suffering. This condition goes undiagnosed for many women for years and once it is diagnosed and the woman needs help, she doesn't have proper health insurance to assist with the increasing medical expenses and she also doesn't have rights as an employee due to the "at will" status of employment in the United States. We also lose our jobs due to this debilitating disease and employers do not try to accomodate us reasonably before this occurs. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, we should have more rights and we should be protected. The United States Dept. Of Labor should hear us out. Many women suffer from this and nothing is done to protect these women's rights as an employee and a patient. Due to the inadequate insurance and rights we have with this condition, the best care options are overlooked. The U.S. Dept. Of Health and Human Services should also recognize that women with this condition could use better backing from the government to get the treatment and care we need and to help us with medical expenses related to this condition in the past as well. If you agree that we deserve better care from medical practitioners and better treatment from employers in the eyes of the law, then please sign this petition! Let's get our voices heard!
