Most people are put into a whole new tax bracket after “picking up some overtime” to help finance basic needs. We are taxed on everything. Overtime is taxed at a higher rate than a normal 40 hour work week. Overtime tax rate can be up to 28%. We should not be paying taxes at such a high rate for trying to get ahead.
