Prison should be Therapy! Rehabilitation to reduce recidivism.

Prison should be Therapy! Rehabilitation to reduce recidivism.

First and foremost, prison should not be privatized. Private companies will charge the state for every bed or empty or not which will cause the incarceration rate to go up.
The cruel inhumane acts forced upon inmates across the united states are unbelievable. The idea here is to give the Justice system over to psychology. To let the Psychology association take lead in rehabilitating ALL inmates through necessary therapeutic practices.
I have outlined a detailed plan for The Department of Justice to connect with Psychological associations, corporations and nonprofits to capitalize and rehabilitate simultaneously. There are many people trying to dismantle the prison-industrial complex, including prisoners themselves. There has been a nationwide prison strike where prisoners are refusing to work in protest of their living conditions and the unpaid work that is a part of their punishment:
As people of the United States , advocates and family members of incarcerated loved ones, we are asking our legislators to please look into the current practices. On the opposite end of the spectrum police officers are not properly trained, there is a lot of implicit biases that take place when people majorly black and brown people come in contact with the law. We have to begin some where. something has to change. Americans who pride themselves on justice and freedom, should be deeply troubled by the fact that money is made off of the imprisonment of other human beings without rehabilitation being the focal point.
