Homelessness is a growing problem all over this country. Individuals and Adults with dependent children who are employed make up a huge percentage of our homeless population due to the lack of affordable housing. Wages and rent should be comparable and currently it is not. Affordable housing opportunities have been reduced over the years, enabling our homeless population to expand. It is unfair to those individuals and families to be without stable living situations despite being employed full-time. If rent control is not put in place, wages and the cost to rent should be in unison.
