Philadelphia is the home to a lot of beautiful people and places.  The beautiful people include those who are homeless and living on the streets without food, clothing, shelter and medical. I want to start an organization that will help as many people as possible; when funding is available.  My goal is to create a 3-step program to aim in helping each individual become independent and financial stable. The program should be approximately 4-6 months in length.

First I would like to open a group home for those without adequate shelter.  There will be an onsite social worker to talk with each individual and figure out their reason for being on the streets.  Those who struggle with drug addiction and/ or alcoholism will be given proper recovery treatment. Food and clothing will be provided to each resident. I plan to obtain these essential items through donations and funding.

The next step will be helping to obtain employment.  Business attire will be available for interviews.  Also, there will be a meeting about the do’s and dont ‘s for interviewing.  While employed there will be financial literacy classes available on site at the group home. Topics will include how to budget and save money in order to support yourself and family. 

The final step of the program will include applying for state benefits such as medical and snap assistance.  Also securing permanent housing. I plan to fix up a housing complex specifically for individuals who finish the program and offer low, affordable rental rates.  After completion of the program, our team will still be available for questions and advice. 

This will help our community by getting homeless individuals off the street. We plan to be there every step of the way as they complete the program and head down the path to living a successful, fulfilling life. Everyone deserve a second chance at life!
