People's lives are not commodities. When we talk about economics, there is something know as a  demand curve. Someone can say "my phone is worth this much to me." A person will say my phone is worth $100 or $200 and some might even say their phone is not worth anything. But you cannot ask the question "how much is your life worth to you" because for everyone, their life is worth everything to them. Anyone would be willing to pay anything, even if they fall into debt, or do anything to live. This is what makes the price of medicine different from commodities in our lives. Access to free to low-cost health care will benefit everyone in the world to care for themselves and for the people they love. Healthcare should be available to all citizens of United States regardless of their economic status.
