Hospital Daily Death Count

Hospital Daily Death Count
Our hospitals are not being held accountable. We now know that through this pandemic, some hospitals have not and are not doing all that can be done in order to save lives.
I live in a town with the second most expensive hospital in the nation, yet they are not doing all that can be done in order to save lives.
Today another friend died, and after seeing my family members and friends find little help from this particular hospital, I believe that we must make all hospitals in the nation accountable to the public on a daily basis.
At the end of each day, every hospital should be required to report to a public data base that is easily accessed by anyone. In that database, we will see the following:
- how many patients were in their care that day
- how many patients died that day
- We must also know what unit the patient was staying in before their death: cancer, covid, maternity.....
There are probably many more data points that are easy enough to report, and we should have access to these.
Hospitals will not give the best care without accountability. We need competition in regards to the survival rate upon entering each hospital. Our second most expensive hospital in the nation is my first-hand proof that patients are being allowed to die without life-saving treatments offered in far less expensive hospitals.
Every person needing a hospital at any point in life would benefit from this reporting.
