Chronic Pain patients are being denied pain medications and are being treated like drug seekers. Doctors are denying pain medications to there patients and offering alternatives like surgery, epidural injections or being left to suffer. For some injections do not provide relief and surgery is not always an option. For some of us, the cost of surgery would be crippling, taking time off from work and loss of wages could render us penniless.   Epidural injections do not work on everyone and are not FDA approved. If the FDA can not approve them why would anybody consider that as an option to treat pain?

Fact!!! Chronic Pain Patients are being left to take matters into there own hands.  They are turning to street drugs and even suicide to find the relief that they so desperately need. Some of these patients were on pain medications prior to the DEA regulations and now that same patient is being denied. How is this fair?  The DEA is tieing the doctors' hands and it is having a severe impact on the quality of care pain patients deserve to receive.  There has to be a better way!!!  The restrictions the DEA has implemented need to be revisited so the people that are being left to suffer can have a quality of life.

We see and hear about the devastation every day, we live in pain and are tired of it. Something has to give, we are tired of being treated like second class citizens looking to get high. We are not addicts, we are mothers, fathers grandmothers, sisters, brothers, and friends. We are the people that are trying to keep it together while our pain consumes us. We aren't being given a choice and that has to change.
