The United States still faces hunger issues with the less fortunate. Specifically children, seniors, disabled, veterans, and active duty military members. With the growing population of homelessness and poverty, hunger has become more of an issue with prices of everything skyrocketing. The united States is the richest country in the world but fails to provide the poor with adequate resources for food. There are many private organizations that set out to feed the hungry but it is not enough. The Federal Government should be more involved in helping fight hunger in the United States.

The Federal Government should reinstate the Agriculture act of 1949 and once again allow the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) to help farmers bring down the prices of dairy products. This is the act that ended hunger in America and therefore should once again be reinstated.

I started this petition because...
I am currently in college and since then I have been doing research on topics that concern me, putting together outlines and giving speeches on certain topics. When I decided to research on this issue, I was devastated to find that food insecurity is worse now then it has ever been. I for one have never had to go hungry but I have been hungry before and could not imagine feeling that way all the time. Children preform better in school and adults produce better at work when they have a full stomach. The world produces enough food to feed over 11 billion people, so, there is no reason why the richest country in the world should allow anyone to go hungry ever.
