Make The Monday after Superbowl Sunday a Federal Holiday
The Monday after Superbowl Sunday should be a Federal Holiday because of the loss of productivity in the workplace. It has been shown that most employees will call out of work on this day, and even if they do show up it is called a waste of time by many employers. Hangovers, conversations about the game and commercials, talking about the halftime show, and attention to pools cause poor performance on this day of the year, every year. It would save a lot of employers money and time to declare this day a Holiday due to the fact that many people do not show up or do not work to their full potential.
