Camdyn Driscoll started this petition to United States Congress

Our planet is getting significantly warmer, and thousands of environmental experts are 95% sure that we humans caused it. We have to fix what was damaged by those before us – Earth. The average surface temperature has risen 1.62ºF (0.9ºC), and most of that increase has occurred in the last 35 years, with the rise of modern industry. Humans have pumped Greenhouse Gases into our Earth's atmosphere, with Carbon Dioxide (CO2) released by burning fossil fuels making up 62% of emissions.

Using fossil fuels for transportation and energy makes up over half of what the U.S. emits in Greenhouse Gases. There must be more of a budget allotted for researching how to minimize these emissions. If better, more energy-efficient technology is developed, Carbon Dioxide emissions could be cut significantly, reducing the carbon footprint left by the U.S. By creating this new technology, the U.S. could also potentially pave the way towards more innovation of a similar variety. If more developed nations followed suit, our country could be the first step in lowering emissions worldwide and preserving our Earth so that many generations may experience her glory.

Join me now in telling Congress that we want more investments into technology to make the world a cleaner, better place.
