Honor Michael Jackson as an American cultural and philanthropic icon

It’s been 7 years since Michael Jackson passed away and yet, in his mother country of the USA, he is still not being shown respect. When he died in 2009, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee submitted a resolution to honor Michael Jackson as a Musical icon and a Global Humanitarian detailing his accomplishments in a long list that we’re going to recap in a few points:
1. BEST SELLING ALBUM OF ALL TIME WITH “THRILLER”
2. BEST BENEFIT SINGLE OF ALL TIME WITH “WE ARE THE WORLD”
3. WORLD RECORD FOR MOST CHARITIES SUPPORTED BY A POP STAR
On April 27, 2016, while we were happy to hear that the United States Senate has passed a resolution honoring Prince as an American cultural icon, we wonder why Ms. Jackson-Lee’s resolution to honor Michael Jackson didn’t get the same result. We raise our question as citizens of democracies all around the world who understand the law that is embedded in the United States Constitution, that a citizen is innocent until proven guilty, but who do not understand why United States institutional offices refuse to honor a United States citizen found not guilty on all counts after a fair trial according to law. This contradicts and betrays the very fundamental principles of a Democracy and of a State of Rights, as well as the very principles of their country.
Having spent his life working and succeeding in making the world a better place with his music and his charity works, we respectfully ask for the approval of a resolution to honor Michael Jackson as an American Legend and a Global Philanthropist.
Please join us and sign our petition to finally give justice to a proven innocent man wrongfully denigrated and not recognized for his greatness to this day.
