To be prideful in regards to your own country, debases human life that resides outside of it’s borders. The Fourth of July is a holiday that invokes this aforementioned pride. To be prideful of your United States citizenship, you are prideful of all of it’s destruction, deceit, and abuse. That is why I hope to change the Fourth to International Solidarity Day. I want to stand with those around the world, to stand in solidarity, therefore in pride — pride induced by being human. To stand in solidarity with the oppressed, abused, and mistreated to be prideful of our combined empathy — our strength.

There is a lot of work that needs to be done in the United States to bring us together, both internally and externally. Change must be made. Thank you.
