US citizens of African descent are disproportionately affected by police brutality. Racism and prejudice are certainly contributing factors, but all too often, police use unnecessary deadly force against US citizens of all races. United States LEO’s are failing to uphold their sole duty is to PROTECT and SERVE. We as U.S. taxpayers must demand utmost accountability from these PUBLIC SERVANTS. To accomplish this, I propose it be required by federal law that police officers have their body cam on the entire time they are on the clock. EVERY SINGLE OFFICER, across the country, be wearing a FUNCTIONING, recording, body cam, from the moment they clock in and holster their weapon, until the second they clock out and put their firearm away. We must impose fines for violations which come from the officers paycheck, just as a speeding ticket would come from ours.
