Domestic violence occurred on June 13th, 2021 at 4:00 PM
A young lady who was recently shifted from Malaysia to Pakistan after completion of her Ph.D degree after spending three and a half years. It was a great pleasure for her on receiving such success, but the trauma initiated when she was imposed to receive extreme physical, mental and verbal abuses from her husband, who was also doing Ph.D with her ; throughout her marriage life, her husband remained highly aggressive along with his parents and siblings. The entire family along with few very close relatives used to act in the similar manner and always tried to cut her off from the family and disrespected, disgraced her with their attitudes and words. The family misbehaved from the day first as soon as she entered their house after marriage. When she returned from Malaysia, her husband’s attitude was aggressively changed and continuously demanding her property share from the parents by force. She told him that the share of property couldn't be transferred to his name in the lives of her parents. On the other side, there was always financial assistance from the narrator’s parents after her marriage. After coming back to Pakistan, her parents also extended various financial assistance for running the house till the husband’s job finalized but he became aggressive and frequently beat her. He continued to abuse her physically and hurled filthy abuses on her caste and family for months . She was not allowed to meet her relatives, parents, brothers and sisters, and all communication gadgets were confiscated. She was threatened to get Talaq and he would send papers of divorce if she would have met anyone .Once she listened to their secret discussion as they planned to impose physical, mental and verbal abuses to make her capabilities at stake. Her computer was locked through a password to stop her from using it ; the whole data was placed in drive C of laptop as whenever she tried to open the password, whole data of Ph.D. would get formatted. Her CNIC, passport and her money in ringgit (2 Lacs =RM 5400), and 2 lacs Pakistani money were taken out from her purse forcefully. Her degree was taken away. The husband hurled Talaq on petty things twice at a moment; the third was kept as a weapon to scare her as a threat. Every day she was almost beaten to death on a single mistake.
If she sat on the sofa which was not liked by him or if she turned on the fan on her choice in a room, he used to abuse and dragged with her hair or locked her in a room, the hateful act continued for hours and hours that she almost lost consciousness and threatened to shot her dead; an iron object used to hit on her head, and often hit on her temples and head. His intention was to turned her insane and to kept her money
His family tried the similar practice of violence. He blackmailed her to post their private photographs. She was dragged on floor by hair, tortured by placing his fingers in her eyes, forcefully slapped, boxed on nose, ears, eyes, cheeks and different parts of body for many hours every day (10:00 p.m. till 5:00 a.m.) which was a fixed time.
She was forced to keep awake, if she fell sleepy at any moment , she was kicked brutally and the husband ranted,
“I will see why the property share wouldn't be transferred to my name." He used to say everyday that she belonged from filthy, bad (neech), zaleel caste of Syed. All happened in front of his family who used to laugh, they never step forward to save her in that span of domestic violence. They all used to hurled bad language and provoked her husband during that span. She was strangled and her breathes were choked many times. Her two kids, a son (16 years) and a daughter (8 years) are kept there by force. She said that he is an irresponsible father, who might not provide the best basic facilities of lives (including clothing, toys, food, entertainment etc.) as she used to provide her children with them. He was an aggressive father who beat her daughter a lot.
Her mother in law supported her husband for the property share. She was pushed out of the house with the name of talaq, dragged on the road even in the middle of night and she had no place to go. On the 13th of June 2021, she was expelled from the house; she was rescued by her father, chachaa, mamoons and khalas. She was left with nothing in her hands not even her children except the flashbacks of extreme domestic violence.
It’s not just one and only tale of domestic violence, physical and verbal abuse, immorality of feminism, derogatory act of male chauvinism, smudge a woman’s identity with below the belt behavior.
Let condemn such ferocious gestures which sweeps away the dignity and pride of a woman who has learned that her survival is to keep her morality high.
