I am closing this petition because Jeanine Hennis gave a fair and just report about the situation in Iraq at the United Nations security council session.

#ThankYou

Just recently Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert the Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) and special representative to Iraq tweeted;

"Disruption of critical infrastructure also of grave concern. Responsibility of all to protect public facilities. Threats/closure of roads to oil installations, ports causing billions in losses. Detrimental to #Iraq's economy undermines fulfilling protesters' legitimate demands"

While ignoring the real tragedies in Iraq, more than 300 people lost their lives and more than 15,000 injured. Corruption, unemployment, embezzlement in Iraq is enormous and spreading into the security sector. The protests, reportedly deadlier than those in Chile and Hong Kong, have been met with a media blackout and silence from the international community. The security file’s yearly budget was bigger than the country’s departments of health, environment, and education combined, yet it was the department that faced the least scrutiny and oversight. Iraq’s security sector turned into a world of rogue cartels.

Iraq's economy was already on its knees, but the current government and the ones before did not do much to make the country’s economic state any better. The Iraqi government did not concentrate on rebuilding the oil sector; the agriculture sector also collapsed, unemployment rose, and many people were rendered homeless. The level of corruption in the political parties and the military turned up a notch higher in past 10 years, and the government was not concerned with the status of the economy as long as they were in a position to pay off their corrupted circle and maintain their power. Today's largest challenge to Iraq's economic reconstruction is corruption. Yet Jeanine Hennis cares more about oil supplies and roads and ignoring the real problem that Iraq is facing for the past 16 years, corrupt governments. Today UNAMI continues to divert the efforts of the heroes who gave THEIR LIVES for a country.

For so long UNAMI failed to bring Iraqi together and not succeeded in having a prosperous national dialogue. In short, Iraqis will not sit on the sidelines and watching bad leaders leading their country astray, they have an overriding desire to change Iraq with everything in them and for that we ask for the resignation of Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert the head of UNAMI and the special representative to Iraq because she diverted the efforts of millions of people. Mrs. Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert also needs to apologize and not to provide further justification. There are millions of Iraqis who are waiting for an apology for ignoring the voices of Iraqi youth.
