The fact that no one over the age of 60 can climb the Tibet side of Mt. Everest is ludicrous. Anyone over 18 should be allowed to climb both sides of Mt. Everest if they meet every other requirement to climb Mt. Everest. Will people over 60 die climbing Mt. Everest? Sure but so do people in their 20’s. Mt. Everest is a very dangerous mountain to climb and only people in very good health should be allowed to climb it. Provided you have the experience and equipment needed to climb Mt. Everest, people of any age over 18 could make it to the top without dying. Doesn’t matter whether you are 18 or 100, it’s extremely difficult no matter what but it’s equally possible to make it at any of those ages. Plus, it would make the record for oldest person to climb it possible to break. The Nepal side has no upper age limit and they should keep it that way but only people in really good health should be allowed to climb it.
