On February 6, 2012 an earthquake hit the islands of Negros and Cebu in the Central Philippines and caused much damage and devastation. It was a 6.7 magnitude earthquake that hit on Monday morning causing landslides which buried homes and people, destroyed roads and bridges. On Tuesday the reported death toll was 48 wtith 92 people missing. However, as search and rescue operations go on, the death toll is rising. Many are left homeless and without food or water. The destruction of bridges and roads has also left many areas inaccessible.
