Why this petition matters

 Just unacceptable!

On December 5th, 2021, Myanmar security thugs in a military truck intentionally rammed and fired directly into a group of unarmed youths who were peacefully protesting in Kyimyindaing Township, Yangon.

Several of these protesters were killed or severely injured. In addition, some were abducted, including a Red Cross nurse, and taken to an undisclosed location. We demand that the United Nations (UN) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) take immediate action by investigating those behind this heinous act, by condemning them, and by holding them to account.

The people of Myanmar have the right to freedom of expression; the right to protest peacefully in support of freedom and democracy; the right to call for an end to the military regime’s use of violence; and the right to demand respect for the will of the people and the release of those unjustly detained.

Please stand with the people of Myanmar and sign this petition or share it with others who may have an interest. Thank you.
