Abdullah Arif started this petition to United Nations and

India has lifted Article 370 of the Indian Constitution on 5th August 2019 thereby depriving the state of Jammu and Kashmir of its special status, prohibiting non-Kashmiris to take employment or buy land;  India is pursuing total demographic change in the state; the people of Jammu and Kashmir reject this unconstitutional move which is also contrary to the International law as the Kashmir conflict is recognised under the United Nations Security Council Resolutions; denial of special status means denial of Kashmiris inalienable right to self determination which is  direct contravention of the UN Resolutions and the UN Reports on Kashmir 2018 and 2019.

We want higher authorities to notice on this act of brutality in Kashmir. They want equal human rights as others and stop killing kashmiris. Its against  every kind of law exist in this whole world.

"Under Article 370 and 35A, the rights of people to come into Kashmir and settle down was extremely limited. They could not buy immovable property, they could not become state subject, they could not enjoy anything the state had to give to the citizens. That is the provision which has gone out of the window. The state government is still entitled to pass some laws like other states have done, limited to who can buy and to what extent people can buy immovable property.

The fear in Kashmir is that this is going to cause a demographic change and that the Kashimiris will be outnumbered by outsiders. "

This year has been one of the deadliest periods in Kashmir’s recent history, with more than 300 people killed in six months, according to statistics, and still they are getting killed everyday.

“It is a conflict that has robbed millions of their basic human rights and continues to this day to inflict untold suffering.”

Office of The High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is likely not to take any further action on the UN KASHMIR REPORT because of non-cooperation from the stakeholders.

This PETITION URGES OHCHR TO ASK THE UNHRC TO HOLD URGENTLY “PANEL DISCUSSION” ON THE REPORT AND NOT TO SHELVE IT.
