August 4th, 2020, the capital of Lebanon, Beirut was hit with a massive explosion of a probable “chemical” source. This catastrophic explosion not only took the lives of countless people, it injured thousands. Houses are falling apart as far as 20 km away from the scene of the explosion. Lebanon is already facing an economic crash & almost everyone is losing their homes. There’s no access to food as many have lost their jobs. The explosion came as a wrecking ball and made the city so much more dangerous and inhospitable. Please don’t let our Lebanese people suffer anymore and sign this petition to bring aid from bigger forces in the world capable to make a change! We can’t do this alone, and it will be a lengthy process. But we need to start bringing initiative into the corruption that is found not just in Lebanon, but all over the Middle East. Mothers should not have to worry about skipping a meal to feed their children, fathers should not fear for their families lives every time they step out of the house. And amidst a global pandemic, COVID-19, this tragedy could not have come at a worse time. Thousands of Lebanese people are sleeping without proper shelter from the horrifying disease and toxic chemical fumes in their air. No one should have to live in such horrible conditions, under no circumstance.
