End Prisons for Profit

Private prisons (also known as prisons for profit) are prisons run by companies that the government contract. These prisons are more concerned with making a profit than they are with benefiting society, and exploit their prisoners to make a profit. Despite crime rates declining in the US, the rate of incarceration has soared to 1 in 110 (US Bereau of Justice Statistics). This petition calls upon the United Nations and the United States Supreme Court to:
-Ban private prisons
-Regulate the operations of the CCA, MTC and GEO group, as well as similar cooperations
-Promote ethical, fair, and just prison sentences with both retribution and rehabilitation in mind
