Dismissal of Saudia Arabia from leading the Commission on Status of Women UN
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
Saudia Arabia has recently been granted seats in the U.N. Human Rights Council where it will enjoy the right to vote on, influence and oversee numerous mechanisms, resolutions and initiatives affecting the rights of women worldwide, including:
-Elimination of discrimination against women
-Equal participation [of women] in political and public affairs
-Working Group on the issue of discrimination against women in law and in practice and so much more.
Seeing that the country has repeatedly proven itself as a misogynistic nation, this is just another gross attempt and example of women's rights being oppressed and overshadowed in the name of politics and international friendly relations.
Please sign this petition to cast your vote as a voice which can speak for this injustice on women worldwide, who look up to this global intergovernemental body for the of their rights.
