Cease and desist mandatory vaccinations in St. Vincent and the Grenadines
St. Vincent and the Grenadines acceded to the United Nations International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights from 9 November 1981. According to the said Treaty, no citizen is to be mandated to receive any medical and or scientific treatment without his or her consent. Since 1979, the laws of St. Vincent and the Grenadines appeared to be skewed towards dictatorship. Currently, the government is attempting to make COVID - 19 vaccinations a mandatory requirement for employment both in the public and the private sector. This is discriminatory and contrary to the dictates of the Constitution and contravenes the provisions in the Criminal Code of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. There is a penetrating climate of fear with administrative intimidation, hopelessness and severe economic distress among the citizens.
We therefore appeal to the United Nations Human Rights Commissioner to call on the current government to cease and desist all attempts at mandatory vaccination and administrative intimidation and also to rectify what is not in conformity with the requirements of the said Treaty.
