Why this petition matters
The outbreak of coronavirus is a global threat. Therefore, the participation of all countries and peoples is necessary to combat it.
The People’s Republic of China is actively working against such an international effort to fight coronavirus, by keeping the 23 million people in Taiwan out of WHO and other international bodies.
This is an unfair discrimination against the people of Taiwan. It is also detrimental to the common world-wide struggle against coronavirus and epidemics in general, since Taiwan can boast of one of the best health care systems in the world:

We demand that the WHO stand up to China, and invite Taiwan to become a member of the organization just like all other peoples and countries, to the benefit of both Taiwanese and others.
