I want the Ghana government to see what is happening to the children who are slaves.

There are 30 million slaves in the world. More than half are children. Ghana has over 160,000 slaves. Along the coast of lake Volta, children at the age of three to eighteen are sold to traffickers. In the past year they’ve only rescued seventy-five children. One of the strongest arguments for an enforced ban on child slaves is that many families don't have enough money. According to “Free The Slaves” a non profit organization, many families who have lost a parent sell their kids into trafficking for twenty-four US dollars, but that in not the problem. The problem is that they are tricked. Parents think their kids are getting a good education. Instead they are put to work fourteen hours a day and get one small meal. 35.2 percent of households have children who have witnessed child trafficking. The children are hit on the head with an oar. Many children have scars from burns. From swimming in the lake they can catch many different viruses such as bilharziasis, gastrointestinal disease, ear infections and other things that can lead to death. They are told to dive below the net to untie them. Many of the children don't know how to swim. The either freeze to death or die. No children should be faced with this at a young age.
