support the Chagos People in their fight to reclaim their homeland

In the 1960s the UK government forcibly removed more than 2,000 natives of the Chagos Islands, near Diego Garcia, and dumped then on the island of Mauritius.
In so doing the UK lied to the UN and breached international law. The UK told the UN that the people of Chagos were ‘itinerant labourers’ when in fact the Chagossians had lived on the same island for more than 200 years.
This was all done so that the UK could lease Diego Garcia to the United States as a base for its nuclear-armed B-52 bombers and other weapons of mass destruction for the wars in the Middle East.
Robin Cook has called the UK actions as "one of the most sordid and morally indefensible".
