Stop the Closure of RAF Scampton

The proposed closure of RAF Scampton will mean the loss of 600 jobs and the closure of one of the most famous RAF bases in the world.

In May 1943, Lancaster bombers of 617 Squadron (The Dambusters) left RAF Scampton to carry out air raids on the dams of the Ruhr valley, in the most famous air raid of World War Two. In more recent years RAF Scampton has been the home of the world famous Red Arrows air display team.

The closure of RAF Scampton is not just about the loss of 600 much needed jobs, but is also about the loss of a major site in British military history. We call on the UK Ministry of Defence to reverse this decision.
