Shut down British Training Camp in Nanyuki until #JusticeForAgnesWanjiru prevails

Agnes Wanjiru, a Kenyan woman, was killed at the hands of a British Soldier training in Nanyuki. Nine years later, no prosecution, no extradition, no justice. If the reported online jokes are anything to go by, the late Agnes Wanjiru’s life was not important to this temporary guest solder, his peers, the British government or the Kenyan officials. UK’s Special Investigation Branch carried out initial inquiries in Kenya, including providing information about this British personnel to Kenyan police. An inquest was held in Kenya in 2019 in which a judge ruled that Agnes was indeed 'murdered by British soldiers who have now long left the base. Nine years later, the UK continues sending dozens of battalions to the Nanyuki army base despite this and other heinous crimes reported against British soldiers.
We refuse to let this injustice remain silent in exchange for strong diplomatic relations. We DEMAND that:
- The British Government immediately extradite and handover the murderer of Agnes Wanjiru.
- That both the UK and Kenyan Government officials stop the cover-up and revive the criminal case
- We are calling for the immediate SHUT DOWN of the British training grounds in Nanyuki until the prosecution is done.
- UK Government compensate Agnes Wanjiru’s family. A daughter will not know her mother because the murder cut her life short.
A crime was committed on our soil. The government of Kenya must reassure Kenyan women that our safety and dignity comes before diplomatic relations. You cannot commit a crime and go Scott free. So sign this petition to be presented to Madam Jane Marriot, the UK High Commissioner in Kenya, the Attorney General and the Kenyan President.
Thank you.
