Ban the sale of fireworks to the public

Ban the sale of fireworks to the public
Why this petition matters

Another bonfire night has been and gone, yet once again the run up to the events are marred by the fact that members of the public are allowed to purchase fireworks, time and time again we see news articles and social media stories of incidents involving fireworks, be it animals cowering in sheer terror at the sounds they make to yobs and thugs thinking it’s hilarious to use them as weapons and throw them into public filled areas without a second thought of the consequences, only just the other day I saw a video of yobs throwing fireworks into a shop which caused serious damage to a young girl on the premises, and an article involving a farmer and his cattle which unfortunately resulted in one of the cattle drowning as a result of a box of 30 fireworks being set off in the gateway to the field with the cattle in. We also read about the risk firefighters are being put in by attending to fires only to be abused and have fireworks thrown at them, this has to stop.
This is why I am now calling on the government of the United Kingdom to outright ban the sale of fireworks to the public, to put an end to the misery suffered by animals not just for the one night but for the weeks that run up to and beyond bonfire night, to put an end to the abuse and terrifying consequences that happen as a result of fireworks getting into the wrong hands.
We can still enjoy bonfire night for the one night that it is, but more needs to be done stop undue suffering. So please stand with me and sign the petition.
