Save the Old Kendall County Jail

Our City has a rich history, and has enjoyed a huge growth in population in recent years, however we are in grave danger of losing our past from this growth. Recently developers have come to town wishing to tear down our past without regard to its history. So many buildings have been gobbled up and thrown into a landfill . Our old Jail was purchased by our city with Illinois Tourism grants to create a museum to let our future know of its roots in history. Now some of our city fathers want to tear it down and toss this piece of our history in a landfill without a single thought of the buildings worth. This Building is one of the last of its kind . The architecture of this building over looking the historic section of original Yorkville, could be a beautiful addition to the future vision . We have two choices of what we would like to leave for our children, a landfill with building material or a beautifully restored building It could serve many purposes from offices to Comunity spaces for all to enjoy, including the museum it was originally purchased. Please sign the petition to save our Historic Kendall County Jail. Or call Mayor Gary Golinski 630-553-8519 and let him know you support saving our Historic Kendall County Jail.
