Why this petition matters

Started by hans merker

In 1960, the epic film “The Alamo” was released. It starred John Wayne, Richards Widmark, and Laurence Harvey. It portrayed the 1836 battle of the Alamo. While a financial success, it’s cost kept it from being completely successful. The production site, the Alamo Village near Brackettville Texas, was expensive.

The Alamo Village has since become a historic filming set and was turned into a tourist attraction and filming location. However, in 2009, the site closed due to the late 2000s recession. The site is currently not open and it’s future is in doubt.

if the 1960 Alamo film is brought to the Blu-ray format in its complete, uncut version, then enough money can be funded for the Alamo Village to be opened, repaired, and maintained for tourists. the film can also be viewed by younger generations of movie viewers for years to come. Also, jobs can be provided for the citizens of the town of Brackettville.
