We must bring maturity and sensible compromise back to our government. This means moving from the extreme right and the extreme left to a rational center where dialogue and responsible action is possible. However, give the current state of Washington politics, we believe that without creative rethinking of the current party system, we risk the continued deterioration of our entire democratic system.
We, the undersigned, propose a Joseph Biden/John Kasich ticket. It is a cross-party approach to our leadership crisis. Biden and Kasich reflect the maturity and sense we desperately need. While they differ on many issues, they have the experience and maturity to resolve issues on a non-partisan and non-ideological basis. Together, they could create the foundation for a new center – whether a new party or a rethinking of the two-party system -- that is desperately needed to elevate the country and return us to a truly balanced approached to governing.
