There is material not suitable for children in the Unit 5 schools. This petition is calling on the Unit 5 school board to reevaluate those books and material with inappropriate content and put them in a rating system. There are books that do not meet community standards. This petition is NOT calling for a ban, but rather a warning/rating system that includes a chance for parents to give parental guidance. Flagging student library cards when books and material are checked out is one solution to this  Parents have the right to say what material their children are being exposed to. We are calling on a system of checks and balances that gives the parents a choice on what their children are able to to take in.
