Stand up for our American Rights!
Why this petition matters

Student, facility, parents, Americans:
It is my belief and the belief of many that the mask mandate is borderline unconstutional. Mandating us to wear a mask without a voice or choice is a disgrace to this Country and the moral fiber it was built upon by our forefathers. We should ALL have a choice to choose what is right for us and or our families. This means the choice to decide if we want to wear a mask without the fear of bullying or repercussions from our peers for doing EXACTLY what this Country allows us to do… choose how we want to live our lives without being punished or segregated or treated unfairly by others for using our given rights as an American.
Our voices as students, individuals and Americans should not be ignored. We ALL matter. All of our beliefs and opinions matter. Why should those who choose to wear a mask or believe it makes a difference be able to tell those who don’t believe the same as they do that we are wrong, and they are right? What makes their opinion or beliefs matter and what I believe not matter? Who decides? The Collinsville Unit 10 School district or We the People? If you fear that you will get sick if you do not wear a mask, please wear one. This is not about who is right or wrong, this is about being given the choice to decide.
Collinsville School District is the only school who is upholding the mandatory mask mandate. Where are the statistics showing that we are more negatively impacted by the pandemic than the others who have all given their students THE CHOICE?
As a student before COVID happened, I was a straight A student. My grades suffered tremendously when we were forced to go remote. All of my grades fell below C’s. I am a visual and verbal learner; I need to engage with my teachers on a personal level. I need to see their facial expressions and engage with them to learn. After returning to in person school, my grades are no longer suffering, and I am back to earning the A’s I am capable of. Now, since I chose not to wear a mask, I am ordered to be segregated to the library to learn by myself once again, denying me my rights to my education to my full potential because my belief is not that of theirs. A punishment for not believing the same as I am told I should believe and for wanting the right to choose. This is not American. I need all of you to help and make our voices heard. Enough is enough.
Please sign my petition and encourage others to do the same to help make a change and have all of our voices heard. Freedom is what America was built upon, don’t let that slip away. Thank you
