Domestic violence is defined as any pattern of behaviour intended to gain or retain power and control over an intimate partner in any relationship. Abuse is defined as physical, sexual, emotional, or psychological actions or threats to influence another person. This includes any actions that intimidate, terrorise, manipulate, humiliate, blame, or wound another person.

Domestic violence can occur to anyone, regardless of race, age, sexual orientation, religion, or gender. It can happen in a variety of partnerships, including married, living together, and dating couples. No matter what the situation is, domestic violence is unacceptable. Hence, it is our job to ensure that we help those who are in dire need and free them from this cruelty and punish the perpetrators.
