​​Did you know that in Malaysia, there are significant inequalities in women's access and possibilities to economic prospects? It is typical for men to exert power over economic institutions in their communities and continue to dominate top management positions. Even the statistics in political leadership are discouraging when it comes to women. Economic inequality between men and women is still prevalent and significant resulting in a gender pay gap. 

We are progressing at a slow pace. In order to make changes, we can start by assessing salaries and standardising pay. Companies need to have a clear, unbiased, non-retaliatory discrimination policy that ensures employees have a proper. treatment in the workplace. 

Let's think of how this affects our mothers and sisters. Emma Watson once said, "men, gender equality is your issue, too". Regardless of your gender, let's spread awareness for the women in our community and ensure that we all get the same opportunities.
