INCREASES THE MINIMUM WAGES IN MALAYSIA
It's official. Malaysian workers are paid the lowest when compared to advanced economies around the globe.
In its 2018 Annual Report, the Central Bank of Malaysia revealed that the Southeast Asian nation was benchmarked against countries such as the U.S., United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, and Singapore
The results, though not surprising, were still shocking to a certain extent.
A single person estimated monthly costs are RM 1,915.73 without rent and the average rent of one bedroom in an apartment per month is between RM800-RM1,000. So monthly cost living can reach between RM2,000 until RM2,500.
Besides that, we can see the Minimum Wages in Malaysia remained unchanged at 1200 MYR/Month in 2021 from 1200 MYR/Month in 2020. Furthermore, the Income Range of RM 1001 – RM 1,500 for Malaysia's Fresh Graduates in 2020 was the highest and the average fresh graduate salary in Malaysia is approximately RM 2,412 per month. In terms of a salary range, fresh graduates can expect a salary of between RM 1,949 to RM 2,836 per month.
The cost of living varies across cities and suburbs. Even RM 3000 salary may not be sufficient because of the prices for grocery, rent, transportation and many more to be considered.
