Covid-19 had increased the number of poverty in Malaysia. People are waiting for aid and the “white flag” movement are common in every areas due to losing their job. 

       As you have undoubtedly heard, the number of poor households increased to 639.8 thousand households in 2020 as compared to 405.4 thousand households in 2019. The incidence of absolute poverty also increased from 5.6 % (2019) to 8.4 %.

      Poverty may lead to higher crime rate such petty-theft, domestic disputes that might cause a violance and under utilising the human resources. Then, negative impact of poverty is the government revenue through income taxes will be reduced due to unemployement. Other than that, there are lack of productivity and economic output in a country. Skill workers are wasted when the companies cant hire a worker 
since they are lack of money. 

      No poverty will contribute to economy grows, including for employment and income growth. With the government subsidies will encourage the private companies to take more workers. The private company also will be able retrain the individues if and when necessary. It will improve personal resume for future job application. This action will eliminate substandard housing, homeless, inedequate nutrition and food insecurity.
