Uniontown

Uniontown
Why this petition matters
Uniontown was a part of Staunton Virginia after the Civil War. Where freed slaves brought a piece of land on the west side of Staunton. In the 1960s the city rezone this piece of history into and industrial industry and stopped people from building on it. In 2002 the bridge that connected Uniontown with the rest of Staunton was torned down because the railroad company didn't want to repair it. Since this important part of history has been turned into nothing but stories from people that once lived there. I think this land should be put back as an historical site and what was once there should be rebuilt back to its original and the city should mark it historical. They should start tours and have people tell the history and the proceeds should go to the descends of this land. If i win i will do everything i can with the permission of these people to bring it back to the way they seen it growing up. If i lose i will move up to the next level of government until i can win to restore history. This petition will be sent to City Hall, The Governor and the Sente of Virginia along with all the information i have about this project.
