Internet Advocacy for the African Child Foundation started this petition to UNICEF and

On the 16th of June, the world will celebrate yet another International Day of the African Child. Let us use this year as an opportunity to honour the memory of the children made the day possible. Some African Children lost their lives in a protest in Soweto on the 16th of June 1976 while they were protesting the Quality of their Education and demanding their right to be taught in their native language. 44 years later, their demands have not been met. Kindly sign this petition in honour of the brave African Children for the prosperity of those alive and the ones yet unborn.

In developed countries like China, Korea, Japan, Germany, children don't get their education in a foreign language, why is that the case in Africa even decades after independence?

The seeming lack of innovativeness of the African Child is not because he is a dullard, it is because at his formative stage the basic knowledge upon which secondary and tertiary knowledge is built was communicated in an alien language.

To improve the chances of the African Child at competing on the global stage with his counterparts from developed countries, we must sure he receives his education in a language that he fully understands.

IT IS IMPORTANT WE MAKE THIS CHANGE NOW.
