Jai hind college started this petition to UNHRC and

A hysterectomy is an operation which is carried out in order to remove a woman's uterus.
There are unethical hysterectomies happening all over India (parts of Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Jharkhand). In beed district of Maharashtra, 4,600 hysterectomies have been carried out in the past three years. It's a very prevalent issue as of now and the numbers are only going up. Lack of sanitation combined with several other socio-economic factors lead to deterioration of the reproductive health of these women and as a result, they get their uterus removed as advised by their doctors. These women are aged between 20-50 and belong to the underprivileged sect of the population and most of them are uneducated and unaware of their reproductive or even basic human rights. Majority of them get hysterectomies done at the age of 21-25 and they can barely deal with the after-effects of the operation due to lack of finances and awareness.
What's more shocking however, is that none of them have the medical reports or files of their hysterectomies, which indicates that something severely wrong is in the making. We would like to strongly urge you to sign this petition in order to bring a change towards spreading awareness about the issue at hand and calling out authorities to probe further into the intricacies of the issue.
