Dear Sir or Madam,
I am sending this e-mail to draw your attention towards Aphrodisias carrying outstanding universal value. Aphrodisias Archaeological Site, located in Aydın, Karacasu where I live, has been added to the World Heritage List and taken under protection during the 41st UNESCO World Heritage Committee session in Krakow, Poland.
Some greedy companies in our country, Turkey, want to establish a geothermal power plant very close to this outstanding archaeological site in order to make easy money. Therefore, these companies have been given geothermal exploration license and geothermal drilling permit by responsible authorities. You can find at the attachment the project file including the license and permits.
If this project is implemented and geothermal hot water is brought to the surface, Aphrodisias Ancient Site will be in great danger; moreover, it will not even be visited soon afterwards due to the poisonous gases released by geothermal power station. Also, these gases will make the whole area smell like rotten eggs.
We, district dwellers, are asking for your help in order to stop this project by international initiative. Please send a delegation to this ancient city.

Bu e-postayı dikkatinizi evrensel değer taşıyan Afrosdisyas’ a çekmek için yazıyorum. Yaşadığım yer olan Aydın Karacasu’da bulunan Afrodisyas Antik Kenti Polonya Krakow da toplanan 41. Unesco Dünya Mirası Komitesi tarafından Dünya Mirası Listesi’ne eklenmiş ve koruma altına alınmıştır.
Ülkemdeki bazı para hırsına sahip şirketler kolay para kazanmak adına bu olağanüstü arkeolojik şehrin çok yakınına jeotermal elektrik üretim tesisi kurmak istemektedirler. Bu amaçla, yetkililer tarafından bu şirketlere jeotermal arama ruhsatı ve jeotermal sondaj izni verilmiştir. Ekte ruhsatı ve izinleri içeren projeyi bulabilirsiniz.
Bu proje uygulanır ve jeotermal sıcak su yeryüzüne çıkarılırsa Afrodisyas Antik Kenti büyük bir tehlikeye girecek ve kısa süre sonra bu jeotermal elektrik santrali tarafından salınan zehirli gazlar nedeniyle ziyaret bile edilemeyecektir. Ayrıca bu gazlar bütün çevrenin çürük yumurta gibi kokmasına neden olacaktır.
