In Lawrence, due to a lack of available jobs and adequate salary, many people are unemployed and struggling to find the resources to support a lifestyle. Universal Base Income (UBI) is a method of combating these problems. If citizens are provided aid money during times of unemployment, then they can sustain a lifestyle while working with employment agencies to find them positions of work. In signing this petition, we are hopefully raising awareness to this issue. We want it so people aren't afraid of being put on the streets when they can't find work, whether it be because they don't have higher education or are an immigrant who is less skilled in English. Everyone deserves a life.
